Water Repellent Finishing Of Spunlace Non-woven Polyester Fabric And Performance Testing
Jan 27, 2016

Water repellent non-woven fabric is mainly used for surgical clothing, disinfecting premises wearing protective clothing, with easily biodegradable, no-clean, hygiene and safety, so, as the "SARS" and "bird flu" have occurred, and waterproof protective clothing made from non-woven fabric has good market prospects. Currently only a handful of companies on nonwoven fabrics water repellent finishing are studied, but it does not get the water repellent effect, so it is not ready for large-scale industrial production.

Water repellent agent containing fluorine repellent oil and does not affect the original style, it quickly grew in popularity and spread, becoming the mainstream fabric water repellent finishing agent in the baby. This successful application of fluorine containing waterproofing agent DF. 3000 spunlace non-woven polyester fabric is water repellent finishing, after testing found that water repellent performance, also found in water repellent agent added to polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) can overcome the disadvantages of colour fastness to water repellent performance and cannot be taken into account.

1 part

1. 1 material

Polyester spun-laced nonwovens, model U31665 (Zhejiang Xinhua paper Holdings Limited).

DF-3000 fluorine containing waterproofing agent, emulsion white, weakly cationic, pH value of 4. 0~5. 0 (1% solution), water solubility, primarily composed of organic fluorine compounds; Eagle printing paint, blue, Superfine powder dispersion agent, nonionic starch binders, modification of phosphate monoester starch and anionic; polyvinyl alcohol (PVA).

1. 2-way

1. 2. 1 water repellent finishing

Dip a rolling (expression 70%-180) a pre-drying (120-130 oC) baking (160~180℃, l~3 mln). DF. 3000 ratio diluted with deionized water.

1. 2. 2 water level tests

In accordance with GB/t 47,451 l997, by tricking water test method for non-woven fabric water repellent test levels.

1. 2. 3 water resistance test

Fabrics for military combat clothing and some ships requires not only breathable but fabrics can do a certain amount of pressure to ensure the waterproof j in wetlands and water. In accordance with GB 5553-1985, hydrostatic test, to test non-woven fabric water-resistant performance.

1. 2. 4 colour fastness test

In accordance with GB 3920-1997, resistant to rubbing and the fastness test methods, to test non-woven fabric dyeing.

2 results and discussion

2. 1 influence of mass concentration on the properties of water and water repellent finishing agent with DF. 3000 respectively, making 5, 8, 10, 20 g/l water repellent finishing agent for treatment of non-woven cloth, baking in the 130~135℃-3 min,170-175 c baking 1 min. Test its water repellent properties, the results are shown in table 1.
